Friendship

So I got thinking today about different levels of friendship. Not the cliche middle school friend drama, but friends in life, in general. Just because you talk to a particular person more often doesn't mean that you're closer friends, does it? Sometimes you're closer to someone you may see often but not always strike up conversation with because you're already so familiar with each other. Sometimes it's the person that you don't always talk to every time you see them who you're closer with. I guess it's that silent understanding that you'll always be there for each other when you need it and you don't need to necessarily talk all the time to show it...right? Then there's the factor of dependency and actual...friendship. In some cases, one person may be more dependent on the other, so they'll make small talk when they see each other because the other friend knows that that person is relying on them. Then there's the case of having a friend that goes to you for help, but you have a silent understanding that you're both independent but will be there for each other if need be. I think that sometimes people will talk more if they're less comfortable or less familiar with each other because sometimes if you're really familiar with a person, there's that wonderful comfortable silence that you two can have without it being awkward. And just because someone's more outgoing and jokey with someone doesn't mean they're better friends. I mean, in some cases that may be true, but I think you can also have two people who have similar personalities and not always talk to each other because they're just not that kind of person...but that doesn't make them any less of friends. These were just some bizarre observations I made today...

Apples

I know, I know. I haven't posted anything in about a month...not that it matters because I don't think many people are reading this! Sometimes I wonder if blogging every day would be easier if I had some sort of goal, you know? I might think of one eventually, but now is not the time. How are you doing out there? I had an apple cider doughnut today, which reminded me of how many yummy foods/drinks are made from apples. Shall I list some? There's apple cider (hot or cold!), apple pie, candy apples, apple muffins, apple cider doughnuts, applesauce, etc...The weird thing is that I really don't like just biting into an apple and eating it like that. I simply can't do it and it's so weird! You know how you always see the girl bite perfectly into an apple in the movies? Nope, can't do it. I get really picky about foods made from apples sometimes too. For example: apple pie? The apples have to be cooked just right- not too mushy, but not undercooked either. Apple cider needs to be a perfect balance between sweet and tart and I think applesauce tastes best with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Speaking of applesauce, I also had applesauce with gingerbread today. Yum. Oh, want to know something kind of strange? I love all of these other apple foods, but I detest apple juice. I think it's because it tastes a tad too syrupy and sweet for my liking. Anyhew, I'm not quite sure why I just went on a mini tangent about apples, but I did. I'm going to try to be more diligent about posting from now on, but no promises. Until next time :)
